TOKA is a registered Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 vide registration No NL/3116, operating out of its registered Office headquartered at Purana Bazar, Dimapur, Nagaland – 797112. Ever since its inception in the year 1995, the Society has since developed from a primary co-operative to an implementing agency engaged in the implementation of various training and rural and tribal development projects in Nagaland with activities ranging from training, handholding, production, farming and microfinance.

The vision of our Organization is to facilitate equitable responsibility, thus fulfilling our endeavour to build a progressive and cohesive society in the region. We are deeply committed to issues that concern the community in general, taking into cognizance the prevailing scenarios at different levels. We are positively entrenched in grassroots initiatives, adapting, formulating and executing, irrespective of the magnitude of the issues.

We remain unwavering in our effort to elevate the status of the tribal community here in Nagaland, working continuously to stay true to our roots. Nagaland being an agrarian society at the core since time immemorial is the paramount reason for our Organization’s focus on agriculture and its allied activities, thereby creating an ecosystem and network of people who are empowered and self-reliant.

Projects & Initiatives

The vision of our organization is to bring equitable responsibility of the society in our endeavor to build a progressive society in the region. We also apprise issues that deeply concern the community in general while the organization apprises issues at different level it deeply believes in grassroots activities and sometimes the issues that we addressed may be small intervention and customizes approaches issues from case to case.

Access to financial services is a key element in the process of socio-economic empowerment of the financially under-served sections of the society. At Toka MPCS, we support initiatives to enhance access to financial services by bridging gaps wherever there are missing markets, to improve livelihood opportunities and productivity in the country and bring more people into the socio-economic mainstream, thus contributing to the full realisation of India’s vast untapped market.

As part of its objectives under its bye-laws, Toka MPCS has undertaken the role to provide general insurance through Reliance General Insurance. Reliance General Insurance is one of the leading general insurance companies of India with 139 offices and more than 12,000 intermediaries across India.

Hitoka J Chishi holds a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture & a Masters Degree in Rural Development and Planning and is a certified Agriprenuer from MANAGE. He heads the Lac development project for Nagaland. His indomitable work ethics and commitment to his craft forms the core part of the Co-operative’s project implementation in the State.
