Vivo V30 Pro; Vivo has been silently turning heads with its penchant for offering top-notch camera hardware in incredibly sleek design as compared to players in the mid-premium segment. Following the Vivo V29 series’ footsteps, the Vivo V30 Pro takes that element and improves on it.
With Zeiss-branded cameras, a beautiful curved glass display, and a thin, light design, it’s targeting users who care about both looks and photography.
But is the V30 Pro a design overdone, or does it deliver where it matters? Here’s a closer look.
Design: Premium In All The Right Places
Design The Vivo V30 Pro strikes a chord with the very first look. It’s slender (just 7.45mm thick) and light (188g) and comes with curved glass on the front and back – it feels luxury. The phone is available in a couple of attractive finishes — Andaman Blue and Classic Black — and shimmers with a subtle, color shifting depending on light.
Despite not carrying an official IP68 rating, the V30 Pro is a little protected against water and dust, just not designed to survive a dropping into a pool or being buried in the dirt.
The feel-in-hand is the same, and it stands out in a crowd — something Vivo’s V-series has been very good at getting right.
Display: Visual Delight
That phone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The result? The most colorful ultra-smooth experience whether you’re watching Netflix or scrolling through your social feed. Colors are bright and vivid, blacks are satisfyingly deep, and the screen is plenty bright — even outside.
Its curved edges and narrow bezels provide an immersive look that’s comparable to pricier flagships. The in-display fingerprint scanner is fast and responsive for a premium feel.
Drive: All about performance
Inside, the V30 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor, 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (UFS 3.1). Unsurprisingly, neat as it may be, this chipset isn’t quite on the same level of raw power as flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 silicon, but it’s smooth and efficient all the same.
Apps launch fast, multitasking is smooth and games like Call of Duty Mobile or Asphalt 9 play without any noticeable stutters. Thermal experience is also good — no severe overheating when doing some heavy tasks.
For the average user the V30 Pro has plenty of punch to get you through the day, whether you’re doing work or enjoying entertainment.
Camera: Zeiss Is Excellent Indeed
Vivo’s trump card here is its Zeiss triple rear camera setup, and it doesn’t disappoint. The configuration includes:
50MP (OIS) Sony IMX920 primary sensor
50MP ultra-wide sensor
50MP portrait lens
50MP front-facing camera
Yes, there’s four 50MP sensors in there in total — a bizarre and ambitious arrangement.
It’s the main sensor that churns out sharp, detailed photos with natural colours, and Zeiss colour tuning ensures that the camera stays accurate to reality.
Its portrait mode is one of the best in class with sharp edge detection and creamy background blur.
The wide-angle photos even maintain good detail without heavy distortion.
Low-light performance is solid if not best-in-class — it’s capable, but can lose some detail in darker scenes.
Selfies are also strong thanks to the front 50MP sensor. Skin tones are rendered naturally, and the wide-angle setting is ideal for group shots.
Power & Battery: Reliable All Day.
The V30 Pro is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, and it has no difficulty last a full day with normal to heavy use.
With the high-refresh-rate screen, you can expect about 6–7 hours of screen-on time.
A wired fast charging of 80W takes the battery from empty to 100% in approx 45 minutes. There’s no wireless charging, but when you’re this charged up wired, it’s not much of a dealbreaker.
Software: Loaded, Yet Funtouch
Software The V30 Pro also has Funtouch OS 14 on Android 14. Vivo has been getting better and better with its software — Funtouch is less of a mess as it was before, although there’s still a number of pre-installed apps and design quirks.
But the UI is slick, animations are buttery, and customization is abundant. That along with at least three years of major updates from Vivo, which all adds to the long-term value proposition here.
Pros:
Sleek and lightweight design
The AMOLED display is both bright and slick.
Zeiss-tweaked quad 50MP cameras take great photos
Excellent selfie and portrait shooting
80W fast charging and strong battery life
It hangs out all day and it doesn’t lie and it can be trusted.
Cons:
No wireless charging
No official IP rating
Still runs the Funtouch OS, and not everyone may like that
Not ideal for hardcore gamers
Vivo V30 Pro Verdict:
The V30 Pro is a phone that’s well-rounded and which places a lot of emphasis on design and photography, despite ensuring you’ll get a steady level of performance and battery life.
It’s obviously aimed at users who prize looks and content creation over raw gaming power.
If you’re in the market for a good looking new mid-range handset with cracking cameras and a premium finish – but don’t want to spend top dollar – the Vivo V30 Pro just made things much more competitive crew.
